Key Findings
Ten critical takeaways from the data.
Finding 01

Stark Performance Divide

Red Lick (A/91) and Pleasant Grove (B/88) dramatically outperform Texarkana ISD (D/69) and Liberty-Eylau (D/63). The gap between the highest and lowest district is 28 points.

Finding 02

Poverty is the Strongest Correlate

Red Lick has 7.5% economically disadvantaged students and earned an A. Liberty-Eylau has 87.9% and earned a D. This pattern holds across every metric.

Finding 03

Racial Achievement Gaps are Severe

In TISD, African American students score 48% at Approaches vs 83% for White students — a 35-point gap. In L-E and PG, the gap is 16 points each.

Finding 04

Liberty-Eylau's Chronic Absenteeism is a Crisis

At 32.8%, L-E's chronic absenteeism is nearly double the state average (19.0%). White students at L-E are at 39.6%.

Finding 05

TISD's Middle School is in Serious Trouble

Texas Middle earned an F (53) and has been CSI-identified two years running. Its Closing the Gaps score of 36 is the lowest of any campus across all 5 districts.

Finding 06

Discipline Disparities

TISD's African American students receive ISS at 2.8x the rate of White students. Multiple Significant Disproportionality flags have reached Year 3. L-E disciplines 26.2% of its students — nearly 5x the rate of Pleasant Grove (5.4%).

Finding 07

TISD's SPED Program Under State Intervention

SPED received "Needs Intervention" (DL 3) with only 26% of SPED students at Approaches and multiple disproportionality flags.

Finding 08

Pleasant Grove Leads in College Readiness

PG's CCMR rate of 93.4% is the highest, driven by 81.9% dual credit participation and strong SAT/ACT performance.

Finding 09

Graduation Concerns at TISD

TISD's 4-year rate (88.2%) is below state average, and its 6-year rate drops to 77.7% — many who don't graduate on time never finish.

Finding 10

Red Lick is the Standout Small District

91% Approaches, 71% Meets, 40% Masters, 96.6% attendance, 4.8% chronic absenteeism — elite levels, though its size (504) and low poverty (7.5%) are important context.
